You’ve got this!

Oceanside 70.3 was a great choice for your first attempt at this distance. Our training program starts with a test week to scan your fitness level and set your training zones. You will be guided through every workout and we’ve loaded some race tips from our coaches who have been in your shoes.

In the end we only regret the things we didn’t do!

  • Your first Half Ironman!
  • Program for athletes with average ability in cycling, swimming and running
  • Cycling intervals are Heart Rate guided
  • Running is Heart Rate and Pace guided
  • This results proven 20-week program is perfect for athletes who want to enter their first 70.3 (Half Ironman distance)
  • The program includes a Test Week in order to set your training zones and e-mail support if you have questions.

Dave Sullivan

Head Coach & Co-Founder

Dave is the Head Coach and Co-Founder of Wingman Multisport with a firm conviction that coaching is not only an art, but also a science. Dave combines his years of coaching experience with the latest technology to ensure that each athlete trains on a programme that is most aptly suited to both their physical condition, their personal goals and their lifestyle.

Dave’s dedication and skill in coaching is clearly highlighted by the regularity of his athletes on the podium. He has coached multiple athletes to qualify for Ironman World Champs in Kona (Hawaii) and even more from couch to finish line.

Dave attended Training Peaks University in Boulder, Colorado, USA and is a leader in South Africa on the use of the software for performance enhancement. As a full-time coach Dave combines his passion for people and all things active to take you to the next level in the sport you love.

Stephan Weyers

Co-Founder

Stephan is the Co-Founder of Wingman Multisport specialising in online coaching. A Sports Lawyer by trade, his multisport journey took him from Ironman “bucket list” wanna-be-athlete to multiple Ironman finishes to coach.

Leading by example through his dedication to training and continuous improvement, Stephan has built a core of athletes who have consistently been able to beat their personal best times at events. Cheerleader at heart, but firm in approach Stephan masterfully combines a data-driven approach with the wisdom and insights of his own personal journey to help you tap into your fullest potential.

Stephan is an Ironman Certified Coach, the gold standard of Ironman coaching. Fully embracing the motto that “Genetics loads the gun, lifestyle pulls the trigger” Stephan’s coaching secret is a powerful combination intellectual know-how and unshakeable commitment to seeing you at the finish line.
